It was a very entertaining evening when Fløy 2 took on Trauma, who were in third place before Monday’s game. There was also a reunion with key ex-flyers such as Bjørnar Hove, Tobias Henanger and Anders Hella.
The fresh Fløy 2 coach Øivind Soltveit fielded the year’s strongest squad with 10 players from the A squad and after an even opening in the first 10 minutes, Fløy 2 completely took over and produced lots of chances and only a very good Trauma goalkeeper prevented many more Fløy 2 scores. Now it must be said that Trauma had a total of four shots in the post, but despite that, Fløy 2 clearly won the chance statistics.
The scores came from William Hilmarsson after half an hour of the first half when he curled the ball in the opposite corner from the corner of the 16-metre, A class score. A very active Preben Hille scored two goals about midway through the second half and Aksel Rannestad Kloster made it 4-0 between the two Hille scores. Anders Hella reduced for Trauma just before the end.
Preben Hille was Fløy’s player of the day with two goals and Xiaolong You and Jakob Årikstad were very solid stoppers. But all Fløy players delivered above par this evening.
With this summer’s reinforcements to the Fløy stable, the points haul will hopefully improve throughout the autumn, and seven points up to a safe place should be within reach.
