Drama in overtime when Fløy won 2-1 over Aalesund 2 at Skarbøvik Stadium

For a long time it seemed that Fløy would run away with the victory after taking the lead after 8 minutes when debutant Kristian Erksen wide-sided the ball into the goal after a perfect cross from another debutant, Deni Dasjajev. But in the 90th minute Aalesund equalized 2 after almost a copy of Fløy’s score.

Then there was great disappointment in Fløy’s clubroom among those present at the screening of the match. But the boys did not give up, and four minutes into overtime, a third debutant, Levi Eftevaag, scored when he scored safely after excellent preparation by Josias King Furaha. Then it took off both on Sunnmøre and on the Island!

The victory was incredibly important in order not to be left behind in the relegation battle. Fløy went past Brattvåg and are now level on points with Aalesund 2, both of whom have played one game less. There are three points up to Fram, who are above the relegation zone.

Fløy played a consistently solid game defensively, but struggled with precision offensively. Aalesund 2 fielded a young team, and as in the home game at Cemo Arena, the young boys from Sunnmøre impressed with good structure and occasionally good combination play. Both teams had few chances and apart from a period in the first half of the second half, Fløy had good control until the equaliser.

The whole team should be praised for a good effort, but of course extra praise to Kristian Eriksen and Levi Eftevaag for the goals and to substitute Josias King Furaha for a fresh and decisive contribution at the end. Praise also goes to goalkeeper Ante Knezovic for safe and good starts, and as always he exudes security at the back.
