Flying with four in a row: 3-1 over Kjelsås at the Grefsen stadium!

There was a repeat of the celebration from autumn 2021 when Fløy saved the place four minutes into overtime. Masses of Fløy fans supported fantastically from the stands in today’s very strong victory over this year’s semi-finalist in the NM.

The odds of a Kjelsås victory ahead of today’s match went down before the match when Fløy had many players out on quarantine and injuries. But coach Marius Johansen and assistant Lars Kristian Pedersen are eventually ruling over a solid stable that has really shown quality after the celebration with four straight victories after only having nine points in the previous ones.

Today’s game at the Grefsen stadium opened chances for both teams in a fairly even game. Kjelsås had the biggest when it hit the crossbar over Ante Knezovic after a header from close range. Soon after, Thomas Kongerud lobbed the crossbar from an angle.

After a half-played half, the Fløy guys put in the turbo. Thomas Kongerud rushed upfield and crossed to Fredrik Lien who fired a shot from long range that crept into the corner. It clearly gave Fløy energy and three minutes later Kristian Eriksen doubled when he scored safely after excellent preparation by Peder Dovland who foresaw along the right and passed perfectly to Eriksen who scored in his fourth game in a row. Fløy continued the drive towards the Kjelsås goal and after about half an hour, Levi Eftevaag hit the crossbar from a very good position, and soon after a very good shot from Peder Dovland hit the crossbar.

After this, the game evens out more and just before the break, Ante Knezovic has to go into action and save a header from a good position. Thus, Fløy could go into the break with a much-deserved lead in the warm autumn weather.

After the break, the expected Kjelsås comes out with energy to get a quick reduction goal, but it is Fløy who once again comes up with a great chance when Peder Dovland brilliantly lobs through to Kristian Eriksen, but this time he does not succeed alone with the goalkeeper.

Beyond the half, it is clear that several of the players run out of energy and Kjelsås gets an increasingly marked advantage. For a long time, the Fløy boys have more or less control defensively, but after the reduction 10 minutes before the end, there are several instances of panic in the Fløy defense and Kjelsås are close to equalizing.

But three minutes into overtime, Josias King Furaha wrangles the ball and ends up with Aksel Rannestad Kloster, who surely scored alone with the goalkeeper.

Coach Marius Kjørvik Johansen is once again very satisfied with the effort of the boys and particularly emphasizes the offensive part with a lot of chance-creating play. Towards the end, it will be “blood, sweat and tears” to stand up to the Kjelsås pressure. All in all, a real team win concludes Marius and assistant Lars Kristian Pedersen on the bus home from Oslo.
